A Celebration
Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 09:38AM Spending time in Accra always enlightens my passion for learning. For the second time, being here has connected me back to a place where the unknown meets the tangible and the senses wind through alleys of absorption. That's why today, I am dedicating this blog to the gift of life.
My time here in Ghana has been blessed with moments that find new ways to teach me the beauty of nature. One of the more recent and explainable moments was witnessing the interaction between a mother and her six puppies earlier this week, making me remember just how amazing and fragile life is. I can't pinpoint what exactly about the image enlivened by senses. But something about feeling a connection with that which co-exists rejuvenated my interest in the endless possibilities life has to offer.
Traveling for me isn't about seeing, but about feeling a connection with that which surrounds me. Only by doing so can I ingest that with has the potential to change--to change me, to change others, and to change the world in which we live.
When I came to Ghana back in 2007, I found a place that did in fact change me. In response, I wanted to help create change for people in Ghana. That's why we are doing our first project here in Jamestown--only the first step in Global Goodness's efforts to help change the world for the better.
